The belovedly awesome pretty camera!

I have a camera now!

Thank to Mieke and her friend Fionn! It came to me all the way from Singapore. It’s a Canon 450D. Fionn even sent both lenses with it and some other stuff for it. It looks awesome and takes great photos. I am very, very happy with it and I appreciate it so much. =d Thank you so much Fionn! It actually arrived last week, but the wrong charger was sent so I found a cheap one on ebay and my mom got it for me since she has stuff she wants me to photograph and the charger got here yesterday! So now I can get caught up on swatches attempt to wear makeup every now and then. xd

Ingredients

  • teaspoon ginger root, chopped
  • ¼-½ cup celery, chopped
  • ¼-½ cup onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup carrot, chopped
  • ½ cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 cup peanut oil or sesame oil
  • ½ cup rice vinegar

Directions

  1. Just add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.

Tips

  • I use ½ cup celery and onion if I’m using unrefined sesame oil. For some reason it needs it. I use ¼ with the peanut oil. I also use tamari sauce instead of soy sauce, because it’s less salty and tastes better. It separates, as you can see in the photo, so make sure you shake it before using.

I love this dressing. There’s a little sushi place in Michigan that makes my most favourite sushi roll ever, they also have the most amazing ginger dressing! Last time I was there they gave me the list of ingredients that were in it, so I played with the quantities until it tasted the same. So hopefully you enjoy it as well!

Review & Giveaway for Hello Cutie Mud Mask

Review & Giveaway: Hello Cutie Mud Mask

press sample

Official description
Your Search For The Perfect Mud Is Finally Over!!

These selected ingredients combine nature, science and beauty in one simple to use product. Hello Cutie Mud Mask
was created in a FDA regulated facility to ensure the highest quality control. Pop open the jar and observe
the refreshing minty aroma. Peppermint and eucalyptus assist in the deeper layers of the skin to extract those
unwanted blackheads, whiteheads and toxins.

What Separates Us From Our Competition? Unlike Most Mud Mask We Use Hyaluronic Acid.

This helps the elasticity in the skin and increases moisture due to aging. Researchers Sato T,Sakamato O, Odanaka W, Yoshida
K, and Urishibata,O found Hyaluronic Acid supplementation to be directly correlated to measured increases in skin moisture.
Microscopic skin surface analysis shows increased skin smoothness, and amelioration of wrinkles.

Unlike other brands we use Vitamin B3( Niacinamide) Dr.OZ stated on his show aired 1/10/14 that Vitamin B3 is “botox in a bottle”
and that “Vitamin B3 is an anti-inflammatory, repair skin, skin cells and improve blood flow that helps with fine line and
wrinkles. If you are not in love with your Hello Cutie Mud Mask within 60 days of purchase return it full or empty and we’ll
return your investment..no questions asked. So with confidence order now and when you do consider getting two..one for you and one
for that special person.

Where to buy
From Amazon – You get a 2 ounce jar for $69.99 USD. It’s currently on sale for $34.99 USD.

Directions
Take the applicator brush and dip it into the mask and observe its creamy texture.Apply thin strokes and enjoy the relaxing
effect on your face as it goes to work. You will experience a slight tingling while it works then the antioxidants, vitamins and
hyaluronic acid goes in and plumps, firms and tightens leaving your skin glowing.

Packaging
It comes in a clear, frosted plastic jar with a silver lid. There is a plastic seal inside when you open it. The label is yellow, white and gray with black details. It has the product and company information.

Scent and formula
It smells of eucalyptus and mint with a barely there tinge of mud. It’s a thickish mud that covers well. It’s charcoal gray in color, though it looks slightly green on your face.

Ingredients
Aloe barbadensis leaf, purified water, kaolin, glycerin, iron oxide, magnesium aluminum silicate, caprylyl glycol, phenoxyethanol, xanthan gum, mandelic acid, panthenol, butylene glycol, cmelia oleifera (green tea) leaf extract, sodium pyruvate, punica granatum (pomegranate) extract, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, chamomile recutita (matricaria) flower extract, glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice) root extract, helianthus annuss (sunflower) seed oil, calendula officinalis flower extract, hyaluronic acid, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, charcoal powder, symphytum officinale (comfrey) leaf extract, tocopheryl acetate, mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf oil, ascorbyl palmitate, dmae bitartrate, niacinamide.

The Hello Cutie Mud mask is pretty awesome. I have used other mud masks in the past but none really compare to it. The scent is amazing, it smells of eucalyptus and mint. The ingredients are pretty awesome and I was pleased to read them. There are a lot of skin loving ingredients, some which I don’t see often in products like comfrey leaf! I was truly surprised to see it. Unlike other mud masks this mask does not dry my skin out, which honestly surprised me. It left my skin plump and moist, no dryness at all. My skin seemed brighter and less red after I rinsed it off and it just felt good. It feels a little tingly and very cooling when it’s on, which feels really amazing. I have been using it a couple of times a week since I got it a few weeks ago and the jar is still pretty much full. It’s a semi-thick consistency that covers really well with just a small amount. I apply it with the bore fan brush I received with it and leave it on until it’s dry which takes anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending on the state of my face. haha On days where my skin gets oily it takes a little longer to dry. Then I just rinse it off with slightly room temperature water. Normally after a mud mask I have to wash my face and then do my skincare routine, but with this rinsing is enough! I have noticed also that after use my pores appear much smaller than usual which is pretty awesome. This is a high quality mud mask that works extremely well! I believe they are still offering a free bore fan brush with purchase right now!

Glam Essentials Offer Peace Of Mind with their Empty Jar Guarantee. No Catches: Use entire jar and if your skin does not feel tighter, firmer, clearer return it for 100% of your Money Back.

Thursday Guest Post!

Thursday Guest Post: Emma from In Pursuit of the Perfect Petticoat

Hi guys! I’m Emma, a new baby blogger that is slightly obsessed with indie makeup. I post semi-frequently and regularly over at In Pursuit of the Perfect Petticoat. I was super excited to be invited to guest post over here about indie cosmetics.

Since it’s January I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Color of the Year- Marsala. As pretty as the Sephora/Pantone collection is, I find that I always like the indie version better. I’ve put together a quick round-up of some of my favorite marsala-esque shades and products from indie companies. Some of the products lean more red or orange, this was intentional in order to help produce a list most people can find at least one thing that would suit their coloring. Personally, I cannot wear orange-based marsala but the red/burgundy shades look delightful on me!

First up is eyeshadow. I’m slightly apprehensive of anything remotely red near my eyes, but it looks like Pantone wants to break me of that this year

.MarsalaEyeshadow1

Left to right, top to bottom: Brazen Cosmetics “Free Spirit”, Detrivore “Apocalyptic”, Glamor Doll Eyes “Chilvarist”, Beauty for the Win “Starbucks Lovers”, Kiss My Sass “Sunburn”, Dreamworld Hermantica “Risky”, Femme Fatale “Blood Moon”, Shiro Cosmetics “Goron Ruby”, Shiro Cosmetics “What’s This Lever Do?”, Beauty for the Win “Amsterdam”, Shiro Cosmetics “Queensguard”, Shiro Cosmetics “Ziggy”

My favorites are definitely Starbucks Lovers and Blood Moon of the shadows, now if only I can get the courage up to wear them….

Next up is blush, a much more wearable approach to the marsala trend.

MarsalaBlush

Top to bottom, left to right: Parlo Cosmetics “Call Me Baby”, Beauty for the Win “Anne”, Silk Naturals “Galaxy”, Notoriously Morbid “Numerology”, Aromaleigh “Gaussa”, Baroque Cosmetics “I’d Hate Toulouse You”.

My favorite from this line up is definitely the Baroque shade- though I think the Aromaleigh shade provides an interesting shade.

This part is my favorite: lip products. I got into lipstick long before I learned the basics of eyeshadow beyond “skin tone on the lid for some shimmer” and marsala is just so wearable and approachable this way, even for those who normally shy away from red. I personally run towards red with my arms outstretched, so that last part was just a guess.

MarsalaLipsClockwise from the left: Silk Naturals “Script”, Performance Colors “Coco Loco”, Fyrinnae “Naughty or Nice”, Fierce Magenta “Brick”, Parlo Cosmetics “Token”, Limnit Lipsticks “Ms. President”.

From this set you can’t possibly expect me to pick favorites. My answer is “all of them”. Those Fierce Magenta and Silk Naturals shades will be mine, ASAP.

I’m sure I missed piles of beautiful marsala shades, so leave me a name or link in the comments so I can add more things to my ever growing wishlist! Check out my blog next week for a review and swatch post of my vaguely marsala-esque shades in my personal collection, indie and non-indie alike.

I have more goodies from InstaNatural to share with you! The Seaweed powder has a few different uses. The tub actually has some recipes on the label, for a cellulite scrub, a facial mask, facial scrub and a seaweed body wrap! I have tried using it as a facial mask and I’ve been using it as a facial scrub! I have also actually used it as a bath soak a couple of times when I was having a particularly rough time with my muscles. I’ve noticed that after I use it as a mask or scrub my skin feels super smooth and supple. It’s kind of like it plumps up. The couple of times I used it in the bath for muscle pain it did seem to help some combined with the hot water.

I’ve been using the Moroccan Rose Water daily. It’s been part of my skincare routine for the last few weeks and I really like it. I’ve known about the benefits of rose water for a long time. I’ve always just made my own toner out of rose water and aloe vera juice, but it doesn’t compare to this rose water. The scent is absolutely amazing. It has a strong rose scent which lingers after you use it for a little while. It’s not overpowering though. The rose water is really soothing and my skin feels softer after using it. It also gives my skin a pretty glow. I also use less serums and moisturizer when I use this in my skin routine!

The Argan Oil Hair Treatment has been great. I mix some with my shampoo when I wash my hair so it doesn’t get so stripped. I also use a pump on my hair after I towel dry it to keep it from being so frizzy and dry. I use this on my daughters hair daily as well. I’ve tried straight argan oil on her hair and this and I prefer to use this. I brush her hair with a natural bore brush which makes her hair fly all over the place. This smooths her hair out and gets rid of the flyaways without making it oily or gross. It’s very moisturizing, but not oily at all. It has been really nice for my hair and my daughters as well!

InstaNatural makes organic and natural skincare and hair products! They have a money back guarantee no matter where you buy your product and you can get a refund with no questions asked.
