So Jennifer offered to pay for my glasses in exchange for my first pair of earrings, to which I replied she could have the first couple. So thank you! My glasses came today from Zenni Optical and they are awesome! The rest of my earring stuff should be here soon.
I must share with you the awesomeness that is Andrea from My Pretty Zombie. She really *is* a goth mary poppins just like Erin said! Yesterday I received a giant box from Andrea and inside was the cutest Adios dude ever and inside his head(seriously how appropriate?) was tokidoki makeups! *squee* She also sent me a tokidoki yearly planner. I swear she must be reading my mind cause I was just looking at planners. I also now have the rest of the drugs like me eye shadows and a special shadow that I will be swatching later! Also a cute button that says might bite which is now on my purse by the zombees button that Mandy sent me! Also if you have not herd yet, Sandie from Brazen Cosmetics made a Crazy Cat Lady lip gloss. *grabby hands* MUST HAS.
So now I shall spam you with photos of my tokidoki awesomeness.
So yesterday my mom and I went into Bi-Mart to see how much it would cost for a membership. It was only $5 for a lifetime membership! So we did it. While I was looking around the plants I found Red Basil, only it looks like a blackened purple not red. It was AWESOME and so pretty! There were about 10 pots. I had to have it. It smelled amazing and I kept thinking about it and debating over it for the rest of the day and into today. So I was telling my mom I thought I was going to go get some red basil when we got paid and she told me to go get it today. So she gave me some money and I went to get a couple for myself and one for Kharizma. She loves purple! So I get there and literally there are only 2 plants left. lol So I grabbed them both! While I was depositing money at the bank for my mom I had sent Kharizma a messsage saying I was going to Bi-Mart to get my purple basil! Then I asked if she was home because I had planned on dropping it off to her, but she wasn’t.
So then I just decided I’d drop it off and leave it by her back door on the way home. Well I didn’t have to because while I was checking out Kharizma showed up. So I was like well I guess I’ll just give you your basil now. haha So anyways! Now I have awesome purple basil and can’t wait to use it. While I was browsing Bi-Mart yesterday I came across some awesome fire pits. Seriously if I had $100 I’d totally buy one. I want a fire pit so bad. I’d love to be able to sit in the backyard around a nice fire and roast marshmallows and such.
And tonight we are going to Sushi & Maki! YES! Kinon wants to see if he can get Tifanny to like sushi. Nom, nom, nom!
Everyone in the house is sick. Seriously. My mom is still dealing with pneumonia, Kinon got sick, got Kai sick, Kai got Fumiko sick and now I have a horrible sore throat and am stuff. Damn you buggies! I’d rather not be more achy than usual thanks. Our friend Kharizma is also sick too, she’s been sick for a couple of weeks with a double ear infection, sore throat and all kinds of non-goodies. Hope she feels better soon. Kai is uh playing StarTrek Online. :shifty: That is all I have to say about that.
Yesterday I decided to stop at our local Kmart just to see what they had. It’s been ages since I’ve been to it. I’m glad I did. I found the cutest little silver shoes for Fumiko, a pair of jean leggings and a couple of shirts on sale. She LOVES the shoes she wore them all day yesterday and put them on as soon as she got up this morning. It’s so cute.
It is creative too!
Next up is our friend Kinon who writes a webcomic along with his friend Tria who illustrates it. Their webcomic is called Dubious Company. You can see their very first comic here. You can see some random samples below. SO if you like uh pirates, and cat girls, and uh, things. You should totally check it out. It’s very cute and you can see how they’ve both improved over the years.
And my friend are creative!
My friend Georgia is super proud of the children’s book that she illustrated. She should be, it’s incredibly adorable and colorful and you all should go buy it. The book is called A Piece of Sky, it’s written by Todd-Michael St. Pierre and illustated by Georgia Guzman. She painstakingly drew every single illustration in this book. It’s gorgeous though, don’t you think? You can pre-order the book or purchase prints at her Etsy shop, here.
Thanksgiving went well. I cooked all day. But we had turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, parmesan asiago garlic mashed potatoes, pumpkin and apple pie and homemade whipped cream. Kharizma brought brussels sprouts and her lavender/ginger syrup. Yum. I only managed to hurt myself mildly! The worst of it was the burn on my finger from accidentally turning on the wrong burner. I turned the one under the glass pie plate on and didn’t realize then picked it up burned the crap out of my finger and then dropped it on the floor. For awhile I just had a brownish burn in the shape of a heart almost, then it turned into a giant blister. It remained a blister until Sushi lanced it the other night.
We’ve been living on leftovers and everything is gone except a tiny bit of turkey and some stuffing. Even Sushi has been eating some of the plain turkey with some oil all mixed into her dry food. Tonight though we shall have teriyaki panko breaded tilapia with rice and corn. Yum. It’s been kind of amusing reading all of the Black Friday stories. We were even told about a lady who was burned by some man. She apparently reached over his shoulder to pick something from a top shelf and he burned her with a butane lighter. The police who responded basically chastised her and couldn’t believe she would call them for such a trivial matter. Cause you know being burned by a crazy many isn’t scary or dangerous at all. You’d think she was trying to take his Prada handbags or something the way he reacted. People are crazy on Black Friday. Glad I never go out.
Loving that song right now. We talked to Sascha today. Gosh I miss him. It’s hard to believe he’s really 9 now. He read to us for awhile. He’s doing really well. He had to ask Tom for help on a few words but he did really well reading. I’m super proud of him. So is Kai. He got to see Sushi. He of course thinks she’s adorable. She is pretty cute. Thanksgiving is coming up quick. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. Pretty soon it will be Christmas and then Fumiko will be 3 and then I’ll be 29. Holy cow. So I’ve lost a total of 21 pounds and gone down 2 belt holes. That’s… huge. It excites me and gives me some hope. Met with Kharizma the other day, love her. Hopefully she and Spencer are eating Thanksgiving with us. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in the area where we were. But it made me wish they’d put exit signs a little further away from my exit so I don’t miss them. Ah well.
I talked to David the other day. He says Sascha is doing great. He hasn’t scored below 100% on his spelling tests yet. He’s been getting the bonus words right too. Hooray! I knew once it clicked that he’d do well. I guess he’s still having a little trouble with b’s and d’s and getting them mixed up, but David says he’s working with him on it. I’m excited for him and proud of him. He’s doing so well. I miss him so much though. His Grandpa Tom was in South Korea I think? I’m not sure now. But he uploaded an awesome video on facebook of fresh octopus. Which I don’t think he ate. haha I’d love to try it. Nom nom.
Going through Kharizma’s wedding photos… yeah it was kind of depressing. As much as I loved taking them. It makes me sad that my lens is broke. There were some shots that would have been beautiful and perfect had they been in focus. Oh well. I told her that when I can get my new portrait lens next year I’ll do a photoshoot with her and Spencer. She seemed to like that idea.
The other day on the way home from taking Kai to work I decided to take the highway home. Just because I guess. There was some poor person broke down on the side of the highway and they were pretty much in the middle of any exits. I felt bad for them. I hope they had a roadside assistance plan. Makes me glad we have one with our cell phones. We’ve never had to use them (knock on wood!) and hopefully we never have to. I’d hate to be in that position.
So since the last time I blogged we went to the pumpkin patch with Kharizma and Spencer, I made 96 cupcakes for their wedding, we went to their wedding and um a bunch of life. Sascha’s birthday is coming up next week! I can’t believe he’ll be 9. Looks like he’s spending his birthday with Sue and then getting a laser tag birthday party on the 6th I think. How fun. Fumiko has been hooked on caesar salads. So have I… kind of. I haven’t made them in awhile. A friend sent me his recipe for dressing so I’ll have to try it out soon. I still haven’t found a recipe I like for baking bread without a bread maker. So still looking for that. I made green beans, bacon and potato last night. It was alright. I don’t think I cooked the bacon enough. Usually I let it get crispy. Will have to cook it longer tonight.
Does anyone know if there are any other tablets out now? I know Blackberry is coming out with a pad, and Apple has their iPad. It’ll be interesting to see how the blackberry tablet does against the iPad. I love Kai’s iTouch. It makes me want an iPhone even more. Though I think I’d probably like an iPad better. Maybe one day. I somehow doubt Verizon is ever going to get an iPhone.
Oh well. I must go shower and get ready to meet Kharizma.
As per usual I can’t sleep, again. Fumiko just crawled into bed and went back to sleep next to me. I suppose I shall take a shower soon and get ready to go to the pumpkin patch with Kharizma and Spencer. They are taking Fumiko, Kai and I later today. Should be awesomely fun. Hopefully I can get some good pictures. I need to text David soon to see if Sascha will be with him or Sue and Tom. I get to tell him that he shall get to meet the new kitty when he comes home. He should be excited. Since we already told him when he got home we would get a kitty. It just so happens it worked out that we get a free kitty a little sooner than expected. She can come home in about 4 weeks.
I’ve finally started stretching my ears again. Here’s to the pain of going up to 0g again. Ben is in California until later tonight at which point I need to pick him up from the airport. He flew down for a few days to try to sell some of his comics at some convention I think.
The weather has been a little wonky. It’s hot, cold, hot, cold, hot. This morning it was freezing cold when I went to the bank. I came home tried to go back to sleep and ended up failing miserably. Kai, Fumiko and I left to go grocery shopping at about 4pm. I had put my jeans and hoodie back on thinking it was still freezing. Nope it was extremely hot. I wish mother nature would make up her mind already. I’d love it if you let the weather stay cold.
I miss Sascha. I don’t know if I say it that much. I sure think about it a lot. His birthday is coming up on November 2nd. This will be the first birthday I’ve missed which makes me sad. Kai and I picked him up a small birthday gift today. We got him a Lego Hero Factory, Surge Bionicle. When I talked to him on Sunday he said one of the things he wanted was some legos. So we got him that and a $20 gift card to Target. That way he can pick something out that he really wants. They had some super cute Paul Frank wrapping paper as well. Hopefully Sascha enjoys it. I can’t believe he’s going to be 9 in less than a month. I wanted to get him a Squishable Android. But unfortunately we couldn’t afford the extra money for it right now. So my plan is to get it for him for christmas. I miss him. So does Fumiko. She’s talking more now and has been saying “Bother come home?” “Shasha come home now?”. Which is cute and breaks my heart at the same time. I keep telling her he’ll be home after school. She knows his birthday is coming up, and keeps getting one of the cupcake tins and says “Make Shasha cake?”. I’m half tempted to make him some birthday cupcakes anyways, just because maybe it’ll make Fumiko feel better. I don’t know we’ll see. I have to talk to Kharizma also and find out how we’re going to do the cupcakes for her wedding. I also need to get some cake flour and find a bigger frosting tip.
This morning my mom and I went to the bank to close some accounts and a safety deposit box, which we meant to do awhile ago. For some reason an old business account which had issues with theft was never closed? So we closed that, I closed my old bank account, and we turned in the keys for the deposit box.
I’ve been having some issues sleeping. By issues I mean I can’t sleep. I’ve been falling asleep finally between 5 and 8am. Which is excruciating. I’ve always been a night owl. I don’t know why but I’ve never been able to get my biological clock to need sleep during normal hours. I’ve tried so many times going to bed at a normal hour only to lay in bed tossing and turning and uncomfortable until very late. Well lately it’s been really bad and it’s driving me nuts. I’ve tried various over the counter sleep aids, both natural and not. Nothing seems to work. The non natural sleep aids make me feel horribly hungover the next day and don’t actually help me sleep. I used to be able to fall asleep by 2am at the latest, but it’s gotten worse over the last few months. So have the migraines. Really though, who in their right mind has the most energy at 2 in the morning? Ugh. So I’ve been trying to get things done around the house and online late at night. Housework is a little difficult since everyone else is sleeping. Well most everyone else. Ben stays up late too, he just hides in his room like some creepy hermit.
I will say some of the late night tv is… strange. I had no idea Friday the 13th had a series. I caught part of an episode the other night. It was about some cursed quilt and some Amish cult. It was really creepy. I’ve also seen a large variety of substance abuse shows, which I have to admit have been pretty informative and interesting. I saw a show about inhalant abuse and also watched some things about opiate detox. I also saw Billy the Exterminator for the first time the other night. Which I must say was pretty awesome and disgusting at the same time.
So life has been full of interesting things recently. We’re getting things over at the other house finished up. This weekend is a yard sale. We’re hoping to make some money to go towards bills. What doesn’t sell is being given to the church. My health has been up and down, mostly down. I am finally starting to feel like a human being again. The migraines aren’t getting better, but the pain is a little more manageable right now. Though my right hand/arm has started to randomly twitch. A friend of ours from California, Ben is going to be moving up. He’s going to stay in Sascha’s room and pay $250 a month for rent. So that will help. It’s hard barely making enough to cover bills, let a lone food and gas. *sigh* We had to borrow money from Kai’s grandfather last month to be able to pay rent. :/ Kai just didn’t make enough to cover it. It’s frustrating because we aren’t out blowing our money, it literally all goes to bills. But anyways. I am starting to feel a little better so hopefully I’ll actually be able to blog on a semi regular basis. There just hasn’t been much to say, and I’m sure no one wants to hear about how I’m feeling in every blog post.
Sascha is doing really well with his Dad and grandparents. He’ll be starting up school soon. He’s growing up and getting bigger. He’s reading pretty well now. Last time we talked to him on Skype he didn’t feel like reading for us but maybe he will on Sunday. We shall see. Fumiko is doing her usual… thing. She’s extremely energetic and active and into everything. She’s talking a lot more now, so it’s much easier to communicate. Clan Tata, aka our 4 friends from California are coming up on the 5th I think to help Ben move up. Three will go home and one will stay. Should be a fun time minus the fact that we probably won’t have food so they’ll be starving. Sorry guys. Kai wanted to do a little barbecue while they were here, but that ain’t gonna happen. After paying bills we have $0 money. Sometimes it sucks that Kai works on commissions, sometimes it’s really nice, but mostly right now it really sucks.
Also, has anyone noticed you only see Mesothelioma commercials at night? Maybe it’s just the channels we watch, but I swear I never notice them during the day…
We’re flying out early Wednesday morning to spend a week in California with family/friends. I’m starting to get excited. Hopefully my period will be done done by then. It’s just kind of hanging on. it’s been 11 days now. ELEVEN! Why? *sigh* So for that reason review will be posted the week that we get back. Stupid period.
Life has been so so. Been talking to Sascha on the phone/Skype every few days. He’s having so much fun. I’m happy for him. Kai is working 6 days straight before we leave for California. Much fun. I think he might be half dead when we get there Wednesday morning. His dad is picking us up and then taking us to his moms house. Can’t wait to see Jamie.
Must go finish laundry and start to pack.
