FOTD + Review: My Pretty Zombie Dr. Pickles Miraculous Beauty Dust Mint & Violet

press sample

So this is kind of a FOTD and swatch/comparison all in one. I have the Dr. Pickles Miraculous Beauty Dusts from My Pretty Zombie for you. I always use the mint shade, mostly because my face likes be red all the time and it helps neutralize the redness a lot. The violet is used for neutralizing yellow in the skin. Anyways, off to the photos.

Summary

Pros
Silky smooth
Neutralizes red
Brightens skin
Mattifies appearance
Sets bb cream/foundation

Cons
None

Final thoughts
I use the Mint every time I do my makeup. It's really great. A lot of powders dry my face out and make it look like my makeup is caked on. These don't. Now that my skin is clearing up and the redness is clearing up I may switch over to the Violet.

Buy or not
Definitely. I plan on picking this up when I run out.

I don’t know if you can really see much of a difference in the photos. I started a new skin routine using asian skincare products and it’s drastically reduced the redness in my face. But the green powder now totally neutralizes any red in my face, before I started using the asian skin care products it did a pretty god job, but you could still tell I was a little red. I don’t really use the violet because it just sort of enhances the redness a little, which I don’t want. XD I love the green powder though. It leaves no green cast on your face and it helps keep my face from getting oily super fast. The powder itself is very fine and silky. My cheeks tend to always stay dry and this doesn’t enhance that, or make them more dry or flaky. I definitely recommend trying it. At least get a sample to try. I am very happy with it!

Stars Beneath Glass over bare skin

Swatches: My Pretty Zombie Stars Beneath Glass

press sample

This is a limited edition, tribute eyeshadow, from My Pretty Zombie. This particular eyeshadow was created to honor a dear friend and customer. All proceeds of this eyeshadow are going towards help with the final costs. This eyeshdow is available until April 23, 2013. This is a very pretty color, I highly recommend purchasing, and purchasing a backup. As you can see in the photos this shadow changes depending on what you apply it over. I have not swatched this over primer yet, but I will in the next day or so. It completely slipped my mind. I posted multiple photos to try and how the awesome, but they don’t do it any justice. :(

Stars Beneath Glass is available here from My Pretty Zombie. This product is vegan. You will receive product in a jar without a sifter, packed 1.5g by weight.

Official description: Steely blue with a gold shift.

Ingredients: Mica, ferric ferrocyanide, titanium dioxide, silica, iron oxide, ultramarines, magnesium myristate.

Applied over bare skin and glitter glue, under a daylight bulb.

Spirometra, Lipeurus and Pelodera over primer

Swatches: My Pretty Zombie Pretty Parasite Collection

press sample

I apologize if anything is spelled wrong or generally effed up. I’m nodding off so sleep so that is my excuse. Good night.

Andrea from My Pretty Zombie is a doll and sent me a Pretty Parasite Collection, which by the way I was anxious to swatch. So here we go! We have Culex, Tosocara, Osedax, Spirometra, Lipeurus and Pelodera! Spirometra is my favorite followed by Toxocara. :D Let’s see Culex is this lovely red/orange shade, it looks like the inside of a blood orange with gold and green sparks. Toxocara is this lovely dusty lavender shade filled with multi-colored sparks. Osedax is this sort of milk chocolate-minky brown with gold and purple sparks. Spirometra is a darkened sage with green and purple sparks. My husband would turn off the light right now. D: Anyways Lipeurus is a forest green that’s been aged and turned slightly taupe with gold and green sparks. Last but not least, we have Pelodera. It’s a blue bird blue with aqua and purple sparks!
