I received samples of Chirp Cosmetics products to try out. I was going to do lip swatches of the lipsticks but I didn’t have enough time today. The sun finally came out and the kids and I went for a walk and explored. Hopefully I can take some tomorrow! All of the shadows are soft and buttery and easy to blend. None of them were shear and all were pigmented. Most of the lipsticks were on the sheer side except Red Velvet and Singe, but they apply evenly. They aren’t scented and don’t really have a smell. Bitten is a lip tint that is a sheer balm. It doesn’t have a scent either. The finishing powder is translucent and matte. It applies well. The blushes are all soft and shimmery and apply easily. The brow powders are matte and soft. They’re easy to apply and blend. Chirp is a new company to me but the products are really nice. I contacted them a couple of times on Facebook with questions and got a very quick reply both times. All product ingredients and descriptions are available on their website. I didn’t want to put them all here or it’d be a very, very long post. xd Chirp Cosmetics is located in Ontario, Canada.

Overall I was really pleased with their products. I hope they come out with some magenta-y shaded lipsticks! You can find them on Instagram and Facebook.

Beauty Bridge sent me this palette to swatch and review! This is my first Too Faced palette and so far I like it. All of the shades with the exception of Kitty Glitter are pigmented and easy to work with. They are buttery soft and blend well. Kitty Glitter was kind of hard to work with. It just doesn’t want to cooperate. The color isn’t buttery and smooth like the others and you have to work at getting a decent amount on your brush. Leopard, Jungle Love and Panther definitely work better wet than dry. I think they definitely work a little better wet than dry. I really like all three of the light shades, Purr, Meow and Kitten. They are just the perfect highlight shades for my skin tone. I will hopefully be doing the looks that came with this palette this week. My face is seriously broke out all over from eating sunflower seeds. xd I have a big ass zit on my nose and a few other mountains on my face. I am hoping they’l be gone or nearly gone this week. This is a really pretty palette. The colors in it really complement each other.

When Beauty Bridge contacted me about reviewing something from their shop I hadn’t heard of them before. Their shop is really clean and easy to navigate. The shipping was really quick and the palette came well packaged and they even included a few skincare samples with it! They offer free shipping over $49. They also have their own skincare products! They carry several brands of cosmetics, skincare and hair care products. Each product page has lots of info about the product inluding ingredients. :) Beauty Bridge is a nice shop, you should check it out!

Thursday Guest Post!

Favorite Inner Corner Highlights

Hello everyone! I’m Carissa and I run The Indie Makeup Blog. Luna was nice enough to allow me a spot as her guest poster today.

You know how people say that adding mascara ties a whole look together? Well for me it’s a nice bright eyeshadow placed in the inner corner. Even when I just wear liner, I still add an inner corner highlight. It makes you look more awake and I love the effect it gives. Although there are plenty of eye-brightening shades out there, I have a few in my regular rotation that are my tried and trues. I applied these without primer or a glitter fixative because I wanted you to be able to get a better idea of how it would look worn in the inner corner.

4

Fyrinnae Sled Puppies is a white gold shimmer with subtle blue sparkles. This is my #1 shadow that I reach for to highlight. Pigmented, smooth, and the white gold shimmer seems to complement nearly any look. I’ve also used this as a cheek highlight and it’s very pretty worn that way.

3

Hello Waffle Sweetie is a shimmery off-white with blue iridescence. The blue shimmer is more apparent in person. This eyeshadow was part of the limited edition Kitty Kingdom collection. For those who don’t know, The Kitty Kingdom collection was inspired by the pet’s of members from Hello Waffle’s Facebook fan page. A portion of the proceeds were given to a local pet shelter in Christine’s area. I like this shade a lot because of the blue sheen. I use this all the time with other blue eyeshadows such as Femme Fatale Dreamstate and Hello Waffle The Great Catsby.

2

Fyrinnae Crimson Ghost is a soft white with a prominent pink shift. The shift can look red or pink depending on the lighting and this one is pretty pigmented. It is easily one of my favorite shades from Fyrinnae and I highly recommend picking it up. One of my go-to looks is Fyrinnae Repunzel Has Extensions on the lid, Fyrinnae It Beautifies! in the crease, and Crimson Ghost on the inner corner.

1

Femme Fatale Perspect-Illusion is a soft pink with a strong blue shift. The blue shift is so intense that it often appears blue instead of pink. Femme Fatale is known as one the best makers of duochromes in the market, and I absolutely agree. This shade is stunning. I like to pair it with Femme Fatale Prismo.

5

Hello Waffle Snow Bees is an off white with subtle creamsicle shimmer. I wish I had more sunlight the day I swatched these so you could see the shimmer more, but trust me it’s there in person. I tend to use this one with orange shadows such as Hello Waffle Fauxlivia.

6

Shiro Moon Prism Power a white gold with a green shift. This is part of Shiro’s High Scores collection and is pretty loved in the indie world. Plus, Sailor Moon. How can you go wrong? This and Femme Fatale Planeshift make the most beautiful combination!

7

Femme Fatale Bone Dust is a greyed out lilac matte base with pink shimmer. Hello long description! But seriously, this color is so cool. Femme Fatale has a few shadows in the matte base + shimmer formula and I really like them. I don’t have anything like this in my collection and it’s light enough to wear in the inner corner or on the lid.

8

Aromaleigh 100 Years of Winter is a sheer grey with heavy silver sparkle and a subtle pink shift. This color was actually made to be used as a multipurpose highlighter so I wear it both as an inner corner shade and as a cheek highlight. It was part of the first Aromaleigh Ephemera Subscription box.

That wraps up my most used highlight shades! Hope you guys enjoyed. Thanks again Luna for allowing me to be your guest poster today :)

Thursday Guest Post!

Life’s Entropy lip and foundation elixir swatches and review!

My first ever Life’s Entropy haul finally came in! I made an order during Black Friday after completely falling in love with some samples I got from an exchange.

I was busy with traveling and hadn’t noticed that my package was lost in the abyss of Canadian mail until the store owner, Jane, emailed me. She offered me the choice of either a full refund or a new package and I picked the latter of course, because I wanted my pretties and I had ordered birthday gifts for my friend! I was quite impressed that Jane took the initiative to contact me. She also offered me a discount coupon to make up for the long waiting time. So major points for customer service and you can bet I’ll be putting that coupon to good use sometime. (:

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESI got the foundation elixir in yellow, a few Lip Theory and Lip Theory samples, and a full-sized Big Bang Theory because it’s freaking amazing and gorgeous. The little vial is the gift with purchase, Chaos.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESHere’s what the foundation elixir in yellow looks like. It’s darker than I expected. It’s a little tricky to get out of the tube. Even after shaking vigorously, it still comes out looking a little like it’s separated? However, once you mix it up, it functions just fine. I find the tube kind of a pain to use because it’s hard to control how much comes out and I ended up squeezing out a lot more than I had intended to later on.

The only foundation I’ve found that really works and stays on me is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear in 2N1 Desert Beige. Depending on the lighting, sometimes it still looks a smidge too pink on me and hence why I got the foundation elixir to try and play with!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESHere’s a swatch on my arm. On the left is my usual foundation, on the right has a little bit of yellow elixir mixed in.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESMy usual foundation.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESWith yellow elixir.

It’s very easy to mix with your foundation and it doesn’t change the original consistency much. Although, if you’re mixing in a lot more elixir that could change it! I think it works very well to give a yellow tint that doesn’t look too sallow.

After this experiment, I’m starting to realize maybe my original foundation is just fine. Ugh, my foundation woes never end and maybe my eyes are just deluding me! I was hoping this yellow elixir would help me figure it out but now I’m realizing I maybe didn’t need it after all. I might pass it on to someone else because I find it still worked very well as intended. And now that you’ve all witnessed my foolishness when it comes to foundation, we can move on to lip swatches! Yay :d

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESThis is what the little samples of the Lip Theory Satin colors look like. They’re small but have a quite good amount of lipstick to try out and I’m sure it’ll last many more uses.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

Left to right: Plasma, Flux, Chaos, Apoptosis,  Nucleus, Big Bang Theory

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESI really like the formula of the Lip Theory Satins! I used a lip brush to apply them. They’re really pigmented and creamy, making for a really smooth and easy application.  On my lips, Plasma and Flux seem reaaaally similar, with the latter leaning more red. I’ve seen other swatches where I think Plasma looks quite different though, so it might just be a matter of how pigmented my lips are. Although I love berry shades, I think Flux looks better on me and I quite like it.

Although the colors are really pretty, they’re also quite common colors in my opinion and I probably would not have purchased a full size. I’m glad I got to try out these samples though because they were really nice to use and very opaque.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESThe GWP, a limited edition Lip Theory in Chaos. It comes in a little vial with a doefoot applicator. It’s a very pretty fuschia color and the consistency is more like the usual Lip Theory rather than the Cosmos collection lipsticks. This was an awesome gift, it’s really a fabulous color and I really enjoy the Lip Theory formula so heck yes, give me more!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESApoptosis is really bright on me. While I love the color, it’s just CRAZY NEON in person and it comes off a bit more muted in this photo. I don’t know if I can quite wear it out just like that, haha.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSo I mixed it with a teensy bit of Big Bang Theory to create a more wearable yet bright color. It turned out quite lovely!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESBlurgh, you can see the area around my lips getting rather red from the constant rubbing off of lipstick. I love Nucleus, it’s really pigmented for a black lipstick and it’s just about as dark as my soul. It’s perfect. I need a full size of this for sure!

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESAnd not to mention, it’s a lot of fun for mixing up new colors! Here’s Nucleus with BBT for a very murder-ey look. Also, I got too lazy to keep wiping lipstick off my piercing.

I really wanna get more of these just for the amazing mixing potential! I like the Lip Theories a LOT more than the OCC lip tars I have. My lip tars feather really quickly and bleed even when I have on lip liner |: And that’s never fun to deal with.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESAnd just for fun, here’s Placebo with Shiro Cosmetic’s Women’s Weapons. I like mixing it on my own a lot better than purchasing custom glosses from Shiro, especially since the one custom gloss I’ve tried just doesn’t last well on my lips. This stays on a lot better and doesn’t feel so slippery and awkward to work with.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESMy mixing palette after all of that. SO MUCH FUN, I SWEAR.

And that concludes this guest post! Thanks a ton Luna for letting me guest post again on your pretty pretty blog! Also these emoticons are way too cute.

If you liked this post, you can find me blogging more about makeup and posting looks at Miekeup!  Thanks for reading
