Ellie from DreamWorld Hermetica had asked awhile ago on Reddit for people to test her new mattes and semi loose shadows. I contacted her about her semi loose shadows as I don’t use a lot of mattes. I completely forgot she’d sent these to me to try. d= I’m sorry! I ran across these last week and felt really bad. t.t So I have them swatched as well as comparisons between her Eye of Ra Eye Dew and Foil Me from Glamour Doll Eyes. Eye Dew is a tacky primer that helps keep glitter on and enhances eyeshadows.

I bet you have no idea which color was my favorite! >.> I love, love, love Grendel’s Mother. It’s so pretty! I also really like Sonnet. The Eye of Ra Eye Dew is really nice. As you can see in the photos there’s a very slight difference in the way the shadows look between the Foil Me and Eye Dew. It performed very well and indeed enhanced the shadows! The eyeshadow formulas are very nice. They are creamy and smooth and very opaque with no primer at all. Definitely check these out. There are a couple of other colors I’d like to pick up! What color was your favorite?

You can find DreamWorld Hermetica on Facebook here and Twitter here. You can contact Ellie through her contact page here. Also I wanted to let you know that because she has foundations, you can contact her for help with finding a foundation to match your skintone, so definitely take advantage of that!

Hello everyone!  I’m Jolie from Etherealize Me and I’m so excited to be featured on Luna’s blog.  Toxid Lotus was one of the first blogs that got me into indie makeup!  I used to blog about inexpensive drugstore makeup, but my content has shifted almost exclusively to indies.  I really enjoy the community of independent makeup and being able to try out little samples before committing to a full-sized product.  I also love interacting with brand owners and I feel much comfortable asking questions about their products because I know I won’t be receiving a cookie-cutter answer from someone who knows nothing about the product.

Anyway, today I have a review on an indie company called Dreamworld Hermetica.  This isn’t my first time trying their shadows, I actually have an older first impressions review I did when the owner, Ellie, sent some samples of her new formula to me to test out here.

I enjoyed their semi-loose eyeshadow formula immensely because they’re pigmented and long lasting.  Dreamworlds was having a pretty big sale so I decided to finally use that opportunity to pick up a shade that I had been eyeing for awhile (Black Flamed Candle).  Mini-jars normally sell for $2.75 for 1/4 tsp, and full-size jars range from $6 to $8 depending on the collection and formula.  I was also interested in one of their CotMs (Color of the Months) called Plummy Penny.  However, I completely forgot it when I was making my order because it wasn’t in the “Eyes” section of the website.  I only found out afterwards on the indie subreddit and was pretty disappointed that I missed it.

My order came in pretty quickly, I forget the exact time because I’ve decided to stop obsessively checking tracking information (which used to stress me out a lot).  When I opened my package, I noticed this Thank You post-it from Ellie.  I was wondering what surprise she meant…

It turns out this sweet woman saw my post on the sub and decided to throw in a full-sized Plummy Penny in for free!  I was blown away and really shocked that she actually connected my Reddit account to my order.  This was amazing and I’m extremely grateful.  It really is a beautiful color (thank you /u/daisyismydog / Rebecca for suggesting it!) and you’ll see how pretty it is in the swatch below.
