Boo Money

Well, Kai took the bus to work this morning, and shall be taking it to and from work for the next couple of weeks possibly longer. The tags on the car expired yesterday, we don’t have the money to do a smog check and get the tags. The insurance policy expires on the 16th. Apparently they gave my mom a 30 day grace period. Ugh. Hopefully we can find insurance cheap enough. :/ On a side note, Sascha is going out to Michigan for the summer. His grandparents(Sue and Tom) offered to pay for his trip out so he could attend a tutoring program at the university by them. I’m happy and excited for him, and so grateful to Sue and Tom. This will really help Sascha. :) Next school year he’s going into one of the local schools by us. So that’ll be an interesting change for him.

Another side note, so many people I know have laptops that are going to the way side. I keep seeing more and more people with netbooks to tide them over. They’re so tiny and cute. :)

Just when I decide to change…

I was talking to Geo and telling her how I wanted to start really blogging again. I was also telling her how I wanted to update my layout. Seriously later that afternoon my video card die. -.- Really? Really…? Ugh. Thank you mr. computer. Kai took his water cooling system apart on his old tower to see if the video card would work. No such luck. He has no video cards that will work in my computer. It’s too outdated. Boo. He’s now trying to decide if it would be better to upgrade my computer, or get another old card. If we decide to upgrade, it’s going to be awhile. We don’t have the money and we’re going to be going to California for Thanksgiving, which Kai I’m sure hasn’t told anyone yet… So yeah. A computer, not so much in the budget for awhile. Maybe we could pick up a part at a time? I don’t know. Kai wants to go to Fry’s on Sunday and see what he can find.

Sascha started school at the beginning of the month. He’s doing well so far. We’ve been teaching him at home. The only thing he’s struggling with is spelling/reading, and that’s only because the waldorf school teaches so differently. I don’t regret sending him, it was wonderful for him and helped him adjust so much, it’s just I wish we had the money to keep him in. Now he has a lot of catching up to do with spelling/reading. I have no doubt he will. He’s quick at learning. He’s been doing extremely well with math, and he’s very good at remembering details and answering questions for science/social studies. I’m proud of him. He’s doing better than I thought he would. He’s actually enjoying it too. I think he likes being able to take a break when needed.

Kai got a raise, yay! He was offered a promotion in Eugene as well, but declined. His request for his 2 weeks of paid vacation was also accepted, so we’re going to be going to California for Thanksgiving to visit Kai’s family and my dad/step mom. I can’t wait. Jeannie hasn’t been doing well. Her health is continuing to go down hill and she’s not getting help. She’s been out of her medications for almost two months. She’s literally wasting away. Very, very slowly. I want her to be able to see the kids before anything happens. I keep hoping every time I call that she’s going to say, things are improving. But she doesn’t, and they aren’t. :( I wish there was something I can do, but outside of visiting and being there, there isn’t much I can do. Her survival is ultimately between her and the universe. That won’t stop me from sending love, but it’s truly out of my hands. My dad knows if anything ever happens to her he has a place to come to with open arms. I truly hope things work out though.

Fumiko is being Fumiko. She’s got a mouth full of chompers, and knows how to use them. She’s able to do things when I ask her to, when she wants to. :P She’s growing up and it’s amazing to see. She out grew her shoes so we picked her up a pair of pink chucks this week when Kai got paid. They were on sale at Target. They’re so cute, I’ve got to take a photo and post it. I love them, she likes them as well. Her hair is getting long, and staying curly. She’s super busy and into everything. She and Sascha are starting to go through the normal brother and sister annoyances. He doesn’t want her in his room, she doesn’t want him to touch her, or her things. He screams, she screams, he pokes, she pokes, he pushes, she pushes, and on and on. I love them.

I need to get together with Kharizma. I miss her. Sue brought Sascha home from his Michigan trip. It was super nice to have her here. She helped us a lot and we truly appreciate it. Sascha really enjoyed her visit. He keeps asking if she can come back. It was really nice to see her again. :) Sascha brought home a bug though, so we were sick pretty much the whole week she was here. :( We still enjoyed her. I made her my apple pie which she enjoyed. I took some photos so I need to post the recipe on my food blog. Speaking of which I need to update that too. :frust: So much to do. So little time. Broken computers don’t help. :( All my programs are on my computer. I’m using Kai’s work laptop right now. It has none of my programs on it. Noooooes!

I just got done with my period as well. I swear I need to get back on the pill. The IUD? Not working out for me. Not only does it make my periods worse, still, but I bleed so bad and I get horribly emotional about a week before I start. On top of that I break out in HORRIBLE acne all over my face. It starts a week-ish before I start and ends shortly after I stop. x_X I swear every time it happens I want to run out and get some acne cleanser. I know it’s not going to work though. It’s hormonal. I keep putting it off though because they stopped making the birth control pill I was on that worked so well for me. The last few I tried didn’t agree with me at all. I had horrible side effects.

She Lives?!

Barely… Haha. It seems I am allergic to penicillin. At least that’s what we think. My dentist gave me some because I need to get a root canal and they thought there might be some infection. I’ve been horribly sick since I started taking it. I’m starting to feel better, but not by much. It seems to vary. Here’s to hoping I feel better soon.

My mom had a heart attack recently. She was in the hospital for a few days. She’s recovering. Slowly, but recovering. They found out that her heart is severely enlarged, and so thick they’re surprised she hasn’t had a stroke yet. This is where the “I told you so!” comes in. I’ve been telling her for a couple of years now to take better care of herself and take her supplements. I hope now she will.

Here comes the biggie.

We’ve decided to move to California. Yes that’s right. Us moving depends on several factors. Mostly a place to live. Since Kai has no credit and I have bad credit(Thanks Mom) we’re waiting/hoping his Grandfather will have a place we can rent. He currently doesn’t have anything available. But we’re hoping. We wanted to move this summer, for various reasons I won’t go into now. But I don’t think that will be possible. So we’re hoping for next summer. Kai also has to find out if he can transfer to a GNC in/near Vallejo. He wants to wait until we know we have a place to live though. He’s going to start looking at other jobs beforehand as well to try to have something lined up in case things with GNC don’t work out. We both think it would be better for us and our kids to be by Kai’s family. We want them to know what it’s like to grow up with a close family which I’ve never had. He tells me it’s great. :P Over all it’s gonna be a huge change. We’d just gotten used to living here. We were also hoping to use our tax return for the move, however it looks like we’ll be owing more than we get back. :/ We need to take our taxes into someone to see if we did something wrong.

Overall, we’re okay, minor bumps along the road right now, but we’re okay. We’re going to be taking Sascha out of the Portland Waldorf School. We just can’t afford to pay his tuition. It breaks my heart, even Kai is not happy about it. But there isn’t anything we can do. We just can’t afford it. We’ll put him in home schooling for a year longer if needed. Until we know he’s ready to go to a regular school. Then we’ll see what happens. Hopefully in the future we can afford to send him back to a Waldorf school. It’s been so amazing for him.

A side note, we had to take out coffee table out to the garage… o_O A little f=Fumi-kitty jumped off of it… When Kai’s mom visited Fumiko discovered she could climb up on the couch. Well now she can climb up on anything. She’s fast too. Hai paranoia.

Anyways. I hope to start updating more frequently. Besides the fact that I need to start doing paid posts again I do miss blogging.

Tsk Tsk

I’ve been bad at blogging. I just haven’t been too interested in it. I’ve been posting over at boardx and playing WoW with Kai off and on when he’s home. Still doing the normal take Sascha to school then Kai to work then go to work then pick Sascha up from school head home and clean/cook/etc. Corralling Fumiko has been much fun. She has her new wheely bug and has been pushing it all over. :) Kai’s new pay finally kicked in a few days ago. Sadly he can’t get back pay for his commissions. -.- Thanks Mr. Jerkface boss dude. *sigh* His pay should have been effective from the 31st when he took over the store. But oh well. At least his hourly pay will be retroactive. Thank goodness.

Man Fumiko really loves blackberries. o_O We just went out and I picked like 20 berries for her and she gobbled them down. She literally stuffed her little face with them. They’re almost gone. I need to find some from the store. Kai just realized that when he handed in his work flash drive to Circuit City he handed in the wrong one. He gave them his personal one instead of the work one. He just found what he thought was his personal one. When he checked it he found all the work programs. So Circuit City has a flash drive with WoW movies and junk on it. :P
