Monthly Post Recap: July 2014

||||| Like It 1 Like it! |||||

Hooray it’s August! (as of two days ago) XD So let’s have a recap of what happened last month!

Also have been adding more bloggers to the indie blogger list! So if you blog about indie products(makeup, skincare, perfume, whatever) let me know so I can get you added! I am also starting to work on my indie shop lists. I have more to add to the cosmetics, then I will be working on perfumes and so on. So if you know of an indie shop that should be on a list let me know. There’s an awful lot of them. XD Also please let me know if you run across a blogger or shop link that is broken! Thanks so much!

Sparking Lemonade Shower Gel

Review: Happy Bath Sparkling Lemonade Shower Gel

||||| Like It 1 Like it! |||||

purchased by me

Earlier this month I ordered a tube of Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream from RoseRoseShop. With that, came lots of samples. One of them was for the Happy Bath Sparkling Lemonade Shower Gel. I just ended up using it tonight and man I wish I had more. T.T

I immediately went to RoseRoseShop to find out they don’t have it. To Google! Google tells me that only one place has it right now. D: You can get it from Cosmetic Love. I’ve not ordered from Cosmetic Love before, but I have read positive shopping experiences online. I sent RoseRoseShop a message, hopefully they’re planning on carrying it in the future! Official Happy Bath website is here.

Official description
Orange extracts makes skin lively. Antioxidant effect of lemon extracts. Apple extracts give vitality to skin.

Where to get
From Cosmetic Love – 300mL pump dispenser for $15.53 USD. Shipping is free.

Directions
Get appropriate amount onto wet shower sponge and work up a rich lather. Massage over body and rinse with water.

Packaging
Standard foil sample packet. The label is really bright and fun. It’s a matte yellow and features a lemon slice in the name. The font is red, white and green.

Scent and formula
It seriously smells like carbonated lemonade. It smells amazing. The scent isn’t overpowering though. About an hour after showering I can faintly smell the lemon. It’s a clear gel much like any other shower gel. It was super bubbly and soft.

Ingredients
I can’t translate the packaging or the website. :(

The sample packet was way more than enough to clean my entire body, a few times over with my puff! This left my skin feeling soft and not dry at all. I can still smell a faint hint of the scent on my skin. I unfortunately can’t find ingredients at the moment. Hopefully in the future I can edit this with those!

Dreamworld Hermetica Swatches and Review!

||||| Like It 1 Like it! |||||

Hello everyone!  I’m Jolie from Etherealize Me and I’m so excited to be featured on Luna’s blog.  Toxid Lotus was one of the first blogs that got me into indie makeup!  I used to blog about inexpensive drugstore makeup, but my content has shifted almost exclusively to indies.  I really enjoy the community of independent makeup and being able to try out little samples before committing to a full-sized product.  I also love interacting with brand owners and I feel much comfortable asking questions about their products because I know I won’t be receiving a cookie-cutter answer from someone who knows nothing about the product.

Anyway, today I have a review on an indie company called DreamWorld Hermetica.  This isn’t my first time trying their shadows, I actually have an older first impressions review I did when the owner, Ellie, sent some samples of her new formula to me to test out here.

I enjoyed their semi-loose eyeshadow formula immensely because they’re pigmented and long lasting.  Dreamworlds was having a pretty big sale so I decided to finally use that opportunity to pick up a shade that I had been eyeing for awhile (Black Flamed Candle).  Mini-jars normally sell for $2.75 for 1/4 tsp, and full-size jars range from $6 to $8 depending on the collection and formula.  I was also interested in one of their CotMs (Color of the Months) called Plummy Penny.  However, I completely forgot it when I was making my order because it wasn’t in the “Eyes” section of the website.  I only found out afterwards on the indie subreddit and was pretty disappointed that I missed it.

My order came in pretty quickly, I forget the exact time because I’ve decided to stop obsessively checking tracking information (which used to stress me out a lot).  When I opened my package, I noticed this Thank You post-it from Ellie.  I was wondering what surprise she meant…

It turns out this sweet woman saw my post on the sub and decided to throw in a full-sized Plummy Penny in for free!  I was blown away and really shocked that she actually connected my Reddit account to my order.  This was amazing and I’m extremely grateful.  It really is a beautiful color (thank you /u/daisyismydog / Rebecca for suggesting it!) and you’ll see how pretty it is in the swatch below.

Un-boxing: Memebox Special #6 Whole Grain

||||| Like It 1 Like it! |||||

giveaway winnings affiliate links

Laaaaaaa! I cannot tell you how excited I am! I won this box in a giveaway. :WTF: I rarely win anything, ever. Anyways! I must show you what’s inside, but first let me tell you about Memebox! Let me warn you this post is seriously image heavy. Also I will be reviewing products individually! This is just an un-boxing to show you what’s inside! Also it looks like the Whole Grain box was re-stocked!

Memebox‘s story
Memebox is a rapidly-growing, leading e-commerce beauty retailer born in Seoul, currently headquartered in Palo Alto, California.

Memebox curates only the most trusted, best-loved Korean beauty products at everyday prices. An extremely competitive industry, Korean cosmetics are renowned for their unprecedented quality developed through cutting-edge technology. At the forefront of the industry, Memebox is determined to deliver the enchantment of discovery through effortless experiences, at prices you’ll never say no to.

Gently guiding your discovery, Memebox believes in offering consumers the utmost freedom, steering away from the traditional subscription-based programs offered by most other sampling services. Order from Memebox only when you want to, as often as you want to. In addition to our box series, Memeshop carries full-sized products featured in previous Memeboxes, offering easy access to Korean cosmetic trends.

The boxes!
Memebox
The original Memebox comes packed with 4 – 8 full sized products and deluxe samples, carefully curated from Korea to give you the best experience and widest exposure to a range of products.
Superbox
Superbox was inspired by our Memebox lovers, looking for full-sized products catered to specific needs. Each Superbox series comes with it’s own theme, designed to target particular concerns.
Luckybox
We only have a limited supply of each Memebox series, and Luckybox was created to bring back our most popular items selected from previously sold-out Memeboxes, all combined in one wonderful collection. Each Luckybox contains a selection of products from past Memeboxes, occasionally including a few new favorites we simply could not resist including. Just like our Memebox and Superbox, Luckybox products are sourced directly from Korea, including only the best-loved items thoughtfully curated by our cosmetic aficionados at Memebox.

Onto the un-boxing!

So my Memebox came in a cute pink bubble wrap envelope, which I didn’t get a picture of. D: But inside that is the adorable hot pink box with all the goodies inside. When I opened it I saw that the lid had stuff printed on it. It says:

Memebox curates only the most trusted, best-loved Korean beauty products, at everyday prices. An extremely competitive industry. Korean cosmetics are renowned for their unprecedented quality developed through cutting-edge technology. At the forefront of the industry Memebox is determined to deliver the enchantment of discovery through effortless experiences, at prices you’ll never say no to.

Next thing I noticed was the printed card. I really like that they list the size and value of the items, as well as directions on how to use each product and a small summary of what it does. Then I saw the products! I think I squealed in delight. I was so excited to get this box and find out what was in it. Luckily for me there isn’t anything I won’t put to good use!

Onto the items!
