Hand swatches over primer

Swatches: Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Mystic Dawn, MidnightKiss, Ethereal & Hidden Moonlight

More Dawn Eyes Cosmetics! I have Mystic Dawn, MidnightKiss, Ethereal Space and Hidden Moonlight. These shades were much easier to work with and swatch. They’re fairly sheer over the primer and Ethereal Space needed to be blended because it went on patchy. Over the Glitter Glue they look much better than over the primer.

So these were swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue. Photos taken indoors under a daylight bulb.

Hand swatches over primer

Swatches: Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Dew Drops, Sparkling Purple Grey, Blurple & King’s Robe

More Dawn Eyes Cosmetics sample swatches. :) I had trouble with these being patchy and sheer over primer again. D: They did much better over Glitter Glue though, than the previous swatches.I emailed the owner to let her know that I was having trouble and to see if her shadows are supposed to be sheer.

I have Dew Drops, Sparkling Purple Grey, Blurple and King’s Robe.

Swatches: Performance Colors COLORPOT Cream Eyeshadow

Sooo I’ve had these for a little while. >.> I’d ordered the sample pack from Performance Colors that came with five COLORPOT Cream Eyeshadow Samples and two concealer samples. I chose Plum Fairies, Champagne, Sweetdreams, Sparkles, and Electric Cornflower for the colorpots and fair and light for the concealers. She ended up sending me a full size pot of Plum Fairies and a full size pot of the Fair concealer as well as a full size jar of her primer and clamshells in Emerald City, Farrah, Velvet Talker and Oilslick, which oddly enough I wanted to try. All of the colors are lovely and can be built for good payoff, but go on more sheer to be used as a base. The lighter of the two concealers matched my skin fairly well but I can’t stomach the smell very well. I had the same problem with the primer, so I haven’t been able to test it out. The smell shouldn’t bother me, I like it just fine, but my stomach says EFF THAT. D: Fortunately all of the COLORPOT’s are fragrance free. :D I love Plum Fairies, Velvet Talker, Farrah and Sweetdreams. I would definitely recommend trying these if you’re looking for a cream eyeshadow and don’t want to buy drugstore brands.

These were swatched on bare skin and photos taken under a daylight bulb indoors.

Swatches: Morgana Cryptoria Gel Lipsticks

So some of you may know of my love for the couple of gel lipsticks I got from Morgana Cryptoria a couple of months ago. Well I has more. I got Syrenka, Atlantis, 11th Hour, Persephone, Cherry Jubilee and Aisling. Love Aisling, 11th Hour, Cherry Jubilee and Persephone. I fail at applying Syrenka and Atlantis, but I knew when I bought them they might not work out for me. I’m a little sad that I can’t get them to work with me, I was hoping though! Still the other shades? Ugh love them. Persephone is such a pretty shimmery nude and Cherry Jubilee is like Twinkling Rubies in another form. It’s so pretty.

I shall let you see the pretties! Photos were taken indoors under a daylight bulb.

Swatches: Madd Style Cosmetix Lotus Bloom, PIsces, Seaglasm, Nirvana & Tank Girl

Just a quick note, the blog sale page was moved to the blog menu up top. :)

Hokay so I’ve been putting this off for awhile. I was mainly avoiding blogging about Madd Style Cosmetix because of all the negative junk that seems to follow them. I want to say, I’m fully aware of all of the “issues” that involve this company. I personally feel that a lot of the “issues” are just people looking for a reason not to like MSC or Mo, and other issues are from the past. I haven’t heard anything recent about MSC that is negative. So with that being said I have swatches!

MSC has some gorgeous colors. I wish I’d tried them sooner. They’re super sparkly and well pigmented. It’s just a really nice formula. For whatever reason I picked out a lot of greens/blue-greens from MSC. I had to purchase Lotus Bloom for obvious reasons, but I also have Pisces and Seaglasm in f/s jars and Nirvana and Tank girl in clam shells. Pisces is freaking gorgeous and I need to wear it as a highlight. The arm swatch for Pisces was um my bad. I effed up with the primer. But you can see in the other swatches how pretty is is. I actually love Seaglasm and Nirvana the most our of these. I’m throwing up a photo of my eyeball where I have Blammo! and Nirvana on. It’s so pretty.

Swatches: NYX Snow White, Goddess & Pure Nude

So BeautyJoint has NYX Round Lipstick for $2.50 each. I purchased 3 of them in Snow White, Goddess and Pure Nude. I love, love, love Snow White(you were right Erin). It’s seriously the perfect red. I also really like Goddess, I was afraid I wouldn’t but it’s really pretty. Pure Nude is very pretty but it shows lip imperfections really easily. My lips were dry when I swatched these. I’d used lip balm and waited a few minutes then wiped the majority off, you could still tell my lips were dry after applying Bare Nude. :( Hopefully it’ll work better when my lips AREN’T dry. XD

I was surprised with these lipsticks. The formula is much better than I expected and ohmygod Snow White is amazing. Alrighty enjoy the photoes!

Swatches: MPZ THC vs. Husbandry Afflictions!

Quick post! Erin asked to see THC next to Anthrax from the Husbandry Afflictions collection. I swatched all of the colors in the collection and THC on bare skin. :) Once I have all of the shadows in my claws I’ll swatch them next to their respective blush. :)

Swatches: Evil Shades Cosmetics Zombie Collection

I can no longer support Evil Shades Cosmetics.

So today is hopefully going to be an awesome swatching day. Hoping to get some more companies swatched! But right now I have for you swatches from Evil Shades Cosmetics Hallow’s Eve 2011 Zombie Collection! The colors are beautiful and fun. I really love Living Dead Zone, Zombie Girl, ReAnimated and Braains. My absolute favorite, err it’s a tie between Zombie Girl and Living Dead Zone. I think I’ll have to do a look with both of them. That should be fun. ;) Shadows were swatched over Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer and Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue. Photos were taken indoors under a daylight bulb. Two of the colors for this collection are already sold out. So if you want some I’d head over to ES and get what you can. :) I’ll be swatching the two lippies in this collection later. :D

pretty shinies...

Swatches: innocent+twisted alchemy innocent+twisted, innocent, twisted, silent lucidity, poisoned tears & melodies in june

Soooo. If you haven’t heard of or tried innocent+twisted alchemy you are so missing out. I initially purchased the 10 pod/clam shell samples for $18.00, then I purchased samples of Linda’s remaining colors. Let me first say, OMG.SO.FREAKING.CUTE. I love Linda’s theme. The sample baggies I got with my first order have stickers on both sides of the bag, one side is completely covered and the other has a star cut out so you can see the shadow color. ^.^ The sample pods/clam shells/thingers are stuffed full and have top and bottom labels. She included a pamphlet with the ingredients for each shadow and some cute little cards and a hand written invoice with a cute note. I had no idea she knew about my blog! ^.~

Anyways I have swatched for you shadows #001-#006, which are innocent+twisted #001, innocent #002, twisted #003, silent lucidity #004, poisoned tears #005, and melodies in june #006. I love them all. I was honestly surprised by how pretty these shadows are. They are complex… and beautiful. Don’t shoot me, but they’re just as nice if not nicer than the Aromaleigh shadows I have. *hides* They are that pretty! You can bet your britches you’ll be seeing a giveaway at some point. Most likely after my birthday1. I shall be getting my tattoo for my birthday/christmas present and well tattoo > makeup. XD But yes, these are beautiful and I urge you to try them. I am very, very, very pleased with well everything. :D I guess I should let you see the swatches now. I tried taking photos at different angles and with blurryness2 but honestly the photos do these pretties no justice. :( Also please forgive me if I’ve mislabeled or spelled anything wrong, it’s 6am and I haven’t slept yet. T.T All swatches are done over Concrete Minerals Electric Eye Primer and Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue.

Swatches: One Hand Washes the Other

So uh this post is several months overdue, I kept forgetting about the draft. Oops. Anyways. This was my first order from One Hand Washes the Other(OHWTO). I ordered a sample of the Black Magic Soap which everyone has been raving about and three solid scents; Coven, Pink Lady and Frankincense & Mirth. I have to be honest here I ordered the soap knowing damn well it has glycerin in it, but wanted to try anyways. Unfortunately after the third use my face broke out in a rash and horrible hives. Poop stick. Fortunately Becca being the awesomely awesome person that she is made a glycerin free Black Magic Soap which I happened to get in the mail today and will be posting about later!

Onto the scents. I loved Pink Lady, liked Frankincense & Mirth and didn’t really like Coven. Coven smelled too much like sweet baked goods to me, while that’s not a bad scent, it’s not a scent I like all that much. My mom however loved the scent! Becca really goes the extra mile when it comes to packaging. You can tell she really cares about her customers and loves what she is doing. My solid scents came in a nice little organza bag, and the sample soap was wrapped up and inside a plastic baggie. Then there is the awesome little wax sealed envelope. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE that she uses wax seals on them. It makes me smile every time I think about it. On the front of the envelope is a neat little stamp.

I had to open the envelope very carefully because I didn’t want to destroy the awesome was seal(seriously I need some of these I want to send people stuff sealed with a wax stamp!). Inside was a couple of sample pods, a business card and my invoice with a hand written note. See? Freaking awesome! I can say there are a handful of companies who really put effort into their packaging like this, and Becca is one of the best. It’s not required but it’s so refreshing to see and it definitely puts a smile on your face! :D

Anyways onto the pictures! While I am sad the Black Magic Soap didn’t work, I kind of figured it wouldn’t, but am super happy that Becca took the initiative to make a soap formula that I can use! *gives giant squishie hugs to Becca*
